Ministries

There are many opportunities to get involved at Safe Harbor. We pray that God will lead you to serve in one or several of our ministry opportunities.

Music - Join our celebration choir which sings once a month during our "each one, reach one - birthday bash Sunday service. The ensamble on Sunday nights is called "UNITED"  the celebration choir is called "One Voice". When they sing together once a month at each one reach one birthday bassh, we call them, "United in One Voice."

Calling all instrumentalists. We need you too! We are seeking to expand our music ministry. Opportunities for singing in the praise team, helping to lead the music on Wednesday nights, or playing an instrument. If you are gifted in music, we need you!

POPA
POPA is a 12 month study group of discussion and self discovery.  After completion of this course, people can join Sheperds task force. Class meets once a month. The course is run once a year. Stop by the infornation desk and pick up a flyer with more information. See Pam or Andre for information on the next class.

Shepherds' Task Force
Made up of POPA graduates, this group meets once a month for bible study and to plan church functions and discuss areas of need in the church. These people serve similar to "deacons" in some other churches.

Sound board
If you would like to help out with the sound system, we would like to hear from you. Opportunities to work the sound desk on Wednesday's and Sundays. Some training will be provided.

Church cleaning committee/roster
If you are innterested in helping to keep the church clean and ready for Sunday services, contact Pam or Andre at church. We would love to add you to the list of "church cleaning angels."

Wednesday night food groups committees
Ever wonder who provides the food on Wednesday nights? Join one of six teams that rotate to provide food for the Wednesday night Life lesson service. Speak to Pam or Andre at church.

Craft/banner group
The Craft group is a group of 20 plus people who gather monthly at someones home to make crafts for personal use and charity. Members of this group also make banners for the church sanctury coinciding with the quarterly church themes.

Grace House rides to church Sunday and Wednesday
We have several Grace House residents that attend Safe Harbor. They need rides to and from church for both Wednesday and Sunday nights. Please sign up anytime to offer rides to these people at the information desk in the fellowship hall.

Phone Ministry
Help us stay in touch with past members, visitors and those thinking about coming to Safe Harbor. See Andre or Pam for more details.

Bar Ministry
Join several members of Safe Harbor who attend the local bar with the pupose of inviting people to Safe Harbor, and/or making our presence known in Jackson. Many people do not even know we exist. We want to change that by having a presence at the bar.

Texting and email Ministry
Receive and help us to disseminate information through texting and emails.

Welcome team/ information desk
Join the weclome team and information desk team. These people help to welcome people to church weekly and also stand by the information desk in the fellowship hall available to answer questions.

Monthly events/yearly events
Be sure to attend our monthly "each one, reach one birthday bash Sunday's." Our yearly Revival month, church retreat and monthly social events. See the calendar for more.

Birthday Bash - each one reach one celebration service, once a month
Once a month we have a celebration service on Sunday night where we invite everyone in our church to invite one person to come to church with them. We work on special music, a choir, and other special things to make the service exciting and meaningful. We also have a potluck after the service in celebration of those who have birthdays that month. Join this team and help us make this monthly event happen.

Anniversary service - once a year
Once a year we have a anniversary service where we celebrate our birthday. Help us prepare for this celebration.

Revival month
Revival month occurs once, sometimes twice a year. During all the Sundays in this month, we have special invited speakers and follow a theme. A focus on personal renewal/growth and church expansion is also focused on.

Church Retreat
This event occurs once a year at a local lake site. We have a time of refreshing and renewal. We get to know each other better and use to the  time to draw closer to God.

New Members Class
This class occurs every 3-4 months. It is a informative meeting where Andre and Pam share information about the church to people who are interested in joing the church or have recently joined. Dates and times are annouced on the website, church bulletin during the services.
